City Transport

Kobe has four major railway stations. The busiest station, served by half a dozen railway companies, is Sannomiya Station in the city center. Another busy station in the city center is Motomachi Station, one station west of Sannomiya.

The next station westbound on the JR Kobe Line is Kobe Station, convenient for accessing Kobe Harborland. The shinkansen (bullet trains) stop at Shin-Kobe Station, a short subway ride north from Sannomiya Station and the city center.

Distances between the attractions in central Kobe are relatively short, and good walkers can cover most of them on foot. There is also a tourist oriented loop bus, which connects most sites of interest for 250 Yen per ride or 650 Yen per day.
