Business Center
Located within the metropolitan area, which
has a huge market of 40 million people, Yokohama offers the
advantage over Tokyo of outstanding human resources and much
better cost performance in terms of cheaper office and housing
rents and land prices. Average land values are less than half
of what Tokyo’s prices, making it the perfect choice
for real estate investment and development.
Information Infrastructure
Yokohama's business district is served entirely by optical
fiber trunk lines. Furthermore, various high-speed communications
infrastructure can be used, such
as wireless, xDSL, and cable networks, and it is possible to make various choices
depending on needs.
Outstanding Human Resources
The number of researchers* and engineers stationed in Kanagawa
Prefecture, where Yokohama is located (Yokohama accounts
for 40% of the prefecture's population),
is approximately 320,000, which ranks Kanagawa number one in Japan in this
respect.
Together with second-placed Tokyo, the number rises to approximately 630,000.
This shows that Yokohama is an excellent place for acquiring outstanding
human resources. (*Researchers in the natural sciences
only; excludes researchers
in humanities and social science.)
Call Center
In Yokohama there is an abundance of human resources capable
of handling foreign languages and advanced technologies,
such as computer telephony integration
(CTI). There are many call centers in the city, including those of WOWOW
Communications,
GE Edison Life, SKY PerfecTV, and Tokyo Disneyland.
