Discover the Geisha

The innocence of the outside world of the truth behind geishas leads them to believe that these women are seductive temptresses who snare men into a web of deceit.

History however changes the panorama concerning these peoples unique plight.

What are Geishas?

A Geisha is a Japanese professional female entertainer, especially for businessman's parties in restaurants. The name means "art person" and a Geisha's accomplishments include singing, dancing, playing traditional instruments and conversation, ranging in subject from a knowledge of history to contemporary gossip.

Geishas are not prostitutes.

Training for the profession, which has existed since the 18th century, begins early with a highly-organised apprenticeship.
