Shotokai – this karate style focuses on slow flowing movements

Shorinjiryu – a karate style that focuses on speed and

Genseiryu – developed by Seiken Shukumine, this style
combines classic techniques with Shukumine’s own techniques
Kata – a Japanese word that describes the detailed patterns

Dojo – a training facility for martial arts
Kyu – a Japanese term used to designate levels of proficiency
