No other country can claim this sport for it is uniquely Japan. It is embedded in its religion in its martial arts and is awash with rituals and symbolism that can only be defined as authentically Japanese.

To the observer, it may only seem as if the aim of the game is for the opponents to out power each other, it is but it comes with a deeper meaning and the understanding of which will give the viewer a deeper perspective of the sport, of the people and of colourful Japan.
