Pet Services
It can be noted that Japanese who do own pets tend to splurge
on their little furry companions. New services geared towards
addressing pet needs have been developed, and these include:
- pet spas: places where animals
can have different kinds of beauty treatments and massages;
and
- pet hotels: conveniently located
in airports, frequent travelers can check their pets in at
these hotels and check them out when they have arrived. Pet
hotels are usually open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are
equipped with video cameras. There is a pet hotel at the Kansai
International Airport, and also at Terminal 2 of the Narita
International Airport.
