Wedding Reception

A very colourful affair can be witnessed in a traditional wedding reception. Right after the wedding ceremony at the Shinto Shrine, the newly wed couple welcomes all the guests at the reception area where  the wedding party is celebrated.   There are sundry ways of doing wedding parties, some prefer an traditional approach but most couples combine the best of the traditional elements and the western flavors.  Guests and well-wishers usually numbers to around 30 to 250 which include the couple’s relatives, family members, and close friends. The usual procedure in Japanese wedding reception includes a program arranged by go-between.  A wedding program is prepared which normally starts introducing the newly wed couple to the reception area to welcome all the attendees. While the wedding banquet is shared, rendition of songs and words of advises fills the reception venue.  At the reception, the couple most especially the bride may change her dress.  The wedding party ends with a message from the newly wed couple where they extend their thanks and appreciation to the guests who celebrated with them in the occasion of their wedding.
