Culture is the learned and shared ways of doing things in the society. It is the characteristic features of a civilization including its beliefs, its artistic and material products and its social institutions. It shapes the way people think, behave and solve problems.

Culture is very evident in the business dealings of Japanese businessmen. With the positive unification of tradition and modernization Japan has evolved into one of the most powerful economies in the world. Japan has formed a distinct model of hierarchy, honor and etiquette that is still reflected in many social and business practices today.
