In the world of entertainment, Ken Hirai currently holds the title as king of Japanese R & B. He humbly started his career with Sony Music when he was still a student in Osaka. His earlier songs were used as themes for TV dramas. He slowly built up his career through his albums coupled by the development of a strong fan base development. He was voted as the Best New Japanese Act by a pop poll in a radio station in Hong Kong. He also performed in a US audience and was well –received by the people there. Hirai possesses a soulful voice, a deep penetrating falsetto and an eccentric look that have earned him a lot of fans.

Ayumi Hamasaki, Ayu to her followers, is another Japanese personality that has invaded the consciousness of the Japanese populace. She is considered as the powerhouse of pop. Her ballads and smooth dance tracks have earned her big time. She is also a prolific product endorser with commercials abounding left and right on top of her multi-platinum albums. Her very loud fashion and musical genre has indeed captivated the attention of Japan.

Another famous Japanese personality is Hiromi Go who is known as one of the stalwarts of J-pop. He holds the prestige of having a long standing popularity alongside with his former wife, Seiko Matsuda. He started out his career as a teen star in the 1950’s. From then, he joined several TV shows, did music albums, and even invaded the film industry. To date, he has already released 58 albums that made him the top selling single male J-pop artist of all time.
