Gaming console – a machine that plugs in to a television, and allows people to play video games.

Handhelds – short for hand-held units that allow portability to video games.

Game genres – means different types/divisions of video games.

DVD – acronym for Digital Video Discs; a medium wherein movies/games are encoded into discs.

Platform games – games that literally require players to jump into various platforms to complete tasks and usually involve multi-level games and puzzles.
