Consumer Electronics
Consumer electronics are one of the biggest
Japanese exports, and for good reason. Japanese technology
and innovation has made it a world leader in the manufacture
of consumer electronics. In this millennial age of cellular
phones, giant-screen televisions and a personal computer in
every home, Japan has used its leading-edge technological savvy
to corner the market in the electronic gadget industry.
Two
things are paramount to the Japanese consumer electronics
success – quality
and reliability. Dedication to product testing, quality assurance
and cost effectiveness keep the Japanese consumer electronics
market always on or near the top. Japanese manufacturers
such as Sony, Sharp, and Matsushita provide a large percentage
of
home electronic devices like televisions and stereos to many
countries throughout the world, most notably in the United
States.
Although personal computers were not invented
in Japan, once it became clear that personal computers were
going to
become almost as primary a fixture in households as televisions,
Japan quickly established itself in the PC industry. Computers,
both personal and business, are one of Japan’s top
exports.
