Hotels

Four and Five star hotels are the most expensive accommodations in Japan, with prices that start from 30,000 Yen and shoots off from there. These hotels offer western-style amenities such as European cuisine, toilets, and other services that will give you a feel of Japan. Majority of the staff speak English, that’s why most foreigners who go to Japan stay at these First Class Hotels.

You will have to make early reservations as it is perceived to be rude not to have booked a room in advance of your arrival. If you're planning a trip to Japan and stay at these hotels, you should know that it is almost impossible to get a reservation during these periods: Dec. 29 - Jan. 4, Apr. 28 - May 7th, and Aug. 5 - 15th, so you might want to make a reservation months, or even years before you fly there. It is also harder to get hotel reservations during local festivals and special events.

Business Class Hotels are the choice of frequent travelers such as businessmen. Although smaller and less posh than First Class Hotels, Business Class Hotels still offer western amenities are clean, and suitable for comfortable but less expensive business trips. The primary advantage of these hotels is that they are almost always located near local transportations and train stations. Most staff also speaks English and at least one English speaking television news station such as CNN or BBC is available. Prices start at 7,000-8,000 Yen in Tokyo, and around 3,000-4,000 Yen in other less-plush areas.
