(Kamakura) Zeniarai Benten Jinja (money-washing shrine) – the Zaniarai Benten Jinja is a “money-washing machine” where coins are first washed, then tossed into the water before entering the shrine.

(Kamakura) Egara Tenjin Shrine – At this shrine, Japanese students would buy ema plaques made of wood on which they write a wish to pass school exams. When these plaques are hung in the shrine, the wind takes these wishes to the god of education, Egara Tenjin. It would not hurt for your children to do the same!

Sanrio Puroland – Sanrio Puroland, where you may find the famous “Hello Kitty”, is located at the Tama Centre. Shows performed by Hello Kitty and some of the characters in the Sanrio family are held regularly. Visitors may also take the boat ride that will tour them around Sanrio Kingdom.

Tokyo Disney Resort – One of the most famous children’s destinations, Tokyo Disney Resort is a great vacation place for the entire family. Take the Disney Resort Line, a monorail that will take you around the resort.

The Tokyo Disneyland Park is a magical place of themed attractions like Adventureland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland with entertainment for the whole family and parades. Seafaring adventures are in store at the Tokyo Disney Sea Park. Tokyo Disneyland also has souvenir shops, restaurants and world-class hotels to complete your stay.

Ghibli Museum – Located in Mitaka, the Ghibli Museum is a very unique museum that will instantly get kids interested. The museum is dedicated to the work of Studio Ghibli which is a Japanese animation team founded by anime sensei Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata.

The museum has a very strange architecture with elaborate exhibits and short films that can only be seen in the Ghibli Museum.

Universal Studios Japan – the first ever Universal Studios outside the US, Universal Studios Japan is another destination that caters to both children and adults alike.

The studio is located in Osaka and houses 18 attractions, 20 themed restaurants and various shops.
